The name of this ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING by Robert Le Mar is “VARIOUS SHADES OF GRAY". Although this abstract painting appears to have no grays in it at all – which defies its title, each color in the piece is deliberately mingled with its color opposite!
In art color theory, mixing a color with equal amounts of its opposite, on the color wheel, will yield gray. Each color in the piece has various amounts (although never an equal amount) of its opposite mixed in, hence the title.
